Why a dentist left the big agencies, and then sent us his colleagues.

This practice came to us on a referral from another dentist we work with. Six months in, the owner had stopped paying for unfocused work, could see his rankings and traffic climbing in his own reports, and had started referring other practices.

The situation

Too small for the big agencies to care about.

The practice had used larger marketing companies before us. The owner's complaint was simple: they were too big. Campaigns were templated, attention was spread across hundreds of accounts, and the detail a single-location practice needs never arrived. The results were lackluster because the focus was.

He was referred to us by another dentist whose practice had been growing with a campaign we ran. He wanted the same thing: a plan built around his practice, his procedures, and his neighborhoods, run by the person he could actually call.

What we did

A campaign the size of the practice, run by one person.

  1. Direct contact. Michael ran the campaign himself and answered the phone himself. No account manager relaying notes to a production team.
  2. Keyword map. Every procedure the practice wanted more of, matched to the phrases local patients actually search.
  3. Procedure and area pages. Purpose-built pages for the highest-value procedures and the neighborhoods the practice serves, written for patients.
  4. Local signals. Google Business Profile, citations, and reviews aligned so the map listing reinforced the organic rankings.
  5. Plain-English reporting. Search Console and rankings shared monthly, so the owner could check our work against his own appointment book.
Results

Rankings and traffic the owner could verify himself.

The Search Console screenshot below covers a single quarter about six months into the engagement: 731 clicks and 59,900 impressions, with the trend rising across the period. More important than the numbers was that the owner could see them, understand them, and match them to new patients walking in.

The result that matters most to us came afterward. The practice has since referred several other dental practices to Birchwood, which is how most of our dental work arrives: dentists referring dentists.

Why it worked

A tailored campaign for one practice beats a big-agency template every time. The owner got focus, a direct line, and numbers he could verify, and the referrals followed on their own.
